A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital following a stabbing in Norbury, Croydon.

Scotland Yard say police were called to St Oswalds Road at 3.20pm, the teenagers condition is currently unknown at this time. A crime scene remains in place on the road.

MPS Croydon tweeted: “Due to the increased risk of possible further serious injury and disorder, a Section 60 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 has been declared for the entire boroughs of #Sutton and #Croydon”.

Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 allows a police officer to stop and search a person without suspicion. Section 60 stops and searches can take place in an area which has been authorised by a senior police officer on the basis of their reasonable belief that violence has or is about to occur, and where it is expedient to prevent it or search people for a weapon if one was involved in the incident.
