Met Police are appealing for information from the public after robbery of a jewellers in Hammersmith and Fulham in which a car was driven into the front of the shop.

Police were called at 5:21pm on Friday, 25 October to Uxbridge Road W12 after a car was driven into the shop front of a jewellery store, a video of the incident can be seen here

A group of males then got out of the vehicle and used sledgehammers to smash into display cabinets and snatch jewellery items in front of shocked members of the public.

One man, aged 34, was arrested on suspicion of robbery after being detained by members of the public at the scene. He has subsequently been charged with robbery, dangerous driving, possession of offensive weapon, criminal damage and receiving stolen goods.

Efforts are ongoing to locate the other suspects who fled the scene prior to police arrival.

In particular detectives are asking for anyone who may have obtained footage of the incident to contact them immediately.
