A man who raped a women at knife point has been jailed.

Diljeet Grewal, 28, was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, with a further five years on licence upon release, at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday, 1 November.

The court heard how he met his victim, a women in her 30s, for a pre-arranged meeting at her address in Hillingdon.

Upon entering, Grewal produced a knife and threatened the woman causing her to fear for her life.

The attack then for approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Grewal was charged with rape and aggravated burglary on Monday, 29 April.

Detective Constable Mark Palmer, who led the investigation, said: “I welcome this sentencing and hope it gives the victim some measure of closure.

“I would like to thank the victim for her bravery in supporting our investigation and identifying Grewal as her attacker.

“I also hope it encourages any victims of sexual assault, to come forward and trust that officers will treat crimes of this nature respectfully and seriously regardless of the circumstances.”
