Police have said that they were called at 04:33hrs on Monday, 3 June to a mosque in Hayes Road, Southall, following reports of a man armed with a hammer at a London Mosque.
Officers attended the scene and a 38-year-old man is reported to have attempted to attack people before he was detained by mosque worshippers prior to the police arriving on the scene.
Following the police arrival he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH and is now in custody at a west London police station. There are no reports of any injuries during the incident.
It has also been announced via news.met.police.uk that this incident is not being treated as terror-related. It is believed the man may have been involved in a dispute with people who attend the mosque from the the previous day.
