The BBC is reporting that some Scientists have found cocaine in freshwater shrimps. The rivers, when tested for chemicals, have revealed that traces of cocaine are present in ‘all samples tested’.

Researchers at King’s College London along with the University of Suffolk, tested fifteen different locations.

Cocaine was found in all samples tested as well as other drugs such as ketamine.
This study was published in the Environment International and looked at the exposure of wildlife, such as the freshwater shrimp, to different micropollutants.
