One male has been arrested after a man and a woman were fatally stabbed in Whitton police have revealed.

Police were called to a residential address in Redfern Avenue, Whitton, at 09:41am this morning (Friday, 12 July.)

Officers and London Ambulance Service went to the scene and discovered a man, aged in his 60s, and a woman, aged in her 70s, that had been stabbed to death inside the property.

Officers believe they know the identity of the two victims and their family are being supported by family liaison officers.Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating.

A 31-year-old man was arrested in Slough on suspicion of murder at around 3:00pm on Friday, 12 July. He is being transferred to a London police station.

Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar, who leads the Met’s South West Command Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the two victims.

“I want to reassure members of the community that this was an isolated incident. Having arrested a man this afternoon, we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the two deaths.

“I would like to express my thanks to emergency services colleagues, including Thames Valley Police who have supported our response to this incident.”
